The role goes beyond routine eye examinations and also includes sales, product guidance, stock handling, store standards, and customer experience responsibilities.

About the company

Lenskart is a rapidly expanding eyewear business in India, focused on prescription eyewear, branded contact lenses, and sunglasses. The company serves customers across a large store network and operates a manufacturing facility in New Delhi that produces 3 lakh glasses every month.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome walk-in customers warmly, guide them to the clinic, and encourage free eye check-ups.
  • Help maintain sales floor standards, assist with stock checks, and support daily store activities to create a strong shopping experience.
  • Use the POS system correctly so transactions are handled smoothly and efficiently.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and work toward high customer satisfaction.
  • Carry out eye examinations using Lenskart’s 12-step optometry process.
  • Explain prescriptions clearly and educate customers on single-vision and progressive lenses while recommending suitable lenses and frames.
  • Check fitted lenses for quality before handing products over to customers.
  • Recommend products based on customer preferences and needs, including identifying unstated requirements through careful questioning.
  • Support sales targets, eye-test conversion goals, return control, and overall SOP compliance.
  • Coordinate product pickup after warehouse communication and attempt to resolve return-related issues.
  • Keep the store clean and aligned with company standards, including frames and equipment maintenance.
  • Protect store equipment and monitor stock to avoid shortages or damage.

Skills and competencies

The role requires a balance of clinical optometry knowledge and retail sales ability. Strong communication, customer handling, active listening, prioritization, adaptability, and ownership are important for success.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a B.Sc. in Optometry. The role also mentions a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Optometry.
