Role Overview
The Order Picking Lead supports the team responsible for assembling customer meal kit orders and organizing them for delivery routes. This position works in a chilled warehouse environment and plays a key role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, organization, and daily performance standards.
What You Will Do
- Pick customized customer orders and place them into shipping containers according to delivery driver routes.
- Monitor and help the team meet budget goals and KPI targets.
- Follow and enforce First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.
- Ensure order-picking schedule targets are consistently achieved or exceeded.
- Track performance so that KPI expectations are met week after week.
- Identify and report delays based on daily schedule requirements.
- Coach and train team members to stay aligned with picking schedule and accuracy goals.
- Maintain records, perform error checks, and follow up on issues.
- Keep the department organized throughout the day.
- Make sure company policies and procedures are followed consistently.
- Work in an environment kept between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius during the shift.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior experience in food manufacturing, warehouse work, or another fast-moving environment is preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a high-pressure warehouse setting with strict deadlines.
- Willingness to work in a temperature-controlled space between 0 and 10 degrees Celsius.
- Ability to stay on your feet for 10-hour shifts.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs. (13 kg).
- Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Google Workspace or similar collaboration tools.
- Dependable, accountable, self-directed, and open to feedback.
- Leadership strengths in coordination, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication.
Schedule and Compensation
This role follows a weekend schedule from Saturday to Tuesday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The pay rate is $22.25 per hour.
