Role overview

Honey Bucket, part of Northwest Cascade, is hiring a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations for a growing, employee-owned organization. This remote position is open to candidates based in Texas or Georgia and is well suited to someone who is detail-focused, organized, and comfortable working with payroll systems, data, and employee-facing processes.

The role requires at least one year of payroll experience and involves handling sensitive information carefully while delivering dependable support to employees and managers. The working schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.

Key duties

  • Manage payroll processing and review HR data within Paylocity.
  • Verify that new-hire onboarding and employee records are completed accurately.
  • Update and check employee job status, pay rate, and deduction changes.
  • Help prepare payroll reports, billing items, reconciliations, and audit support materials.
  • Handle verification of employment requests.
  • Assist with benefits administration and upkeep of employee records.
  • Generate and circulate routine payroll reports.
  • Answer payroll-related questions from employees and managers.
  • Support payroll compliance tasks and document retention requirements.
  • Provide general administrative help to the payroll team.
  • Take on additional duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • At least one year of prior payroll experience.
  • Background using a payroll or HRIS platform is required; experience with Paylocity is preferred.
  • Strong precision and a consistent focus on accuracy.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel ability, including formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data review.
  • Ability to protect confidential information and manage sensitive data professionally.
  • Well-developed organization and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented approach with flexibility to support a range of payroll and administrative activities.
  • Curious, proactive mindset with an interest in problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
