Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Kochi for a Placement Officer. The role focuses on developing and sustaining relationships with employers, training partners, and educational institutions to create placement opportunities for learners and job seekers connected with Samarthanam.
Key Responsibilities
The Placement Officer will coordinate recruitment activities, match candidate profiles with suitable openings, arrange interviews, and monitor placement results. The role also includes providing career guidance, organizing or supporting employability training sessions, and coaching candidates on job readiness, resume building, and interview performance. In addition, the officer will maintain placement data, compile periodic reports, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure training outcomes are aligned with employer expectations.
Qualifications and Expectations
Applicants should bring strong experience or capability in campus placement and employer relationship management to help secure and coordinate job opportunities. Excellent communication skills are needed to engage effectively with employers, partners, and candidates from varied backgrounds. The role also calls for career counseling ability to help learners choose appropriate career paths and prepare for selection processes. Experience in training or education-related coordination is useful for conducting orientations and employability sessions.
Additional Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required; qualifications in social work, education, management, or human resources will be an added advantage.
- Previous exposure to placement coordination, recruitment, talent acquisition, or community-focused development work is preferred.
- Strong planning, documentation, and reporting abilities are important, along with the capacity to manage multiple stakeholders and work toward placement goals.
- The role requires a genuine commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and respectful engagement with persons with disabilities and communities from diverse backgrounds.
Work Environment
This position is based at the Kochi center and requires on-site presence.
