It is known for an innovative approach that has improved efficiency in the construction industry and has grown into a leading specialist in its market.

As Procurement Lead, you will oversee purchasing across all warehouse locations and guide a team of three purchasing officers. The role is central to keeping stock available, balancing price, quality, and delivery performance, and supporting cost-saving goals while maintaining service standards.

What you will do

  • Manage, coach, and support the purchasing team.
  • Shape and deliver the procurement approach for both local and overseas sourcing.
  • Create, revise, and close purchase orders for domestic and imported stock using system outputs and your own assessment.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships while securing competitive pricing, reliable quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with inventory, sales, and operations teams to keep stock levels at the right point.
  • Partner with Finance on purchasing budgets, spend forecasting, and cost-reduction activity.

Experience and skills needed

  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Strong negotiation ability and confidence handling supplier pricing, delivery conditions, and quality expectations.
  • Practical knowledge of purchasing workflows, stock replenishment, supplier assessment, and procurement cost management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, inventory platforms, and purchasing software systems.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels.

Benefits and work environment

  • Work with a respected and established supplier in Australia’s building sector.
  • Access market-leading products and tailored solutions.
  • Flexible working arrangements and a focus on work-life balance.
  • Referral, reward, and recognition initiatives.
  • Supportive team culture and positive day-to-day working environment.
  • Strong emphasis on career growth and progression.
  • On-site parking available.
