Role Summary
This part-time remote position is for a Procurement Manager responsible for purchasing goods and services in a way that balances cost, quality, and timeliness. The role centers on sourcing from approved vendors, assessing and selecting suppliers, managing RFPs/RFQs, and negotiating commercial terms, pricing, and service expectations. It also includes drafting, reviewing, and renewing contracts, watching supplier performance, and resolving issues to keep supply dependable.
Key Responsibilities
- Source products and services through approved suppliers while maintaining a cost-effective and timely procurement process.
- Identify, assess, and qualify vendors to build and maintain a dependable supplier network.
- Manage requests for proposals and quotations, including comparison of supplier offerings.
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and service levels to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
- Create, review, and renew procurement contracts to ensure they remain current and compliant.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues that could affect reliability or quality.
- Review spend information, track procurement KPIs, and support better purchasing decisions through analysis.
- Work closely with finance and operations teams on budgeting and procurement planning.
- Recommend updates to procurement policies, workflows, and sourcing practices to improve efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong background in procurement and supplier assessment to manage a reliable vendor base.
- Hands-on experience in contract negotiation and contract administration.
- Ability to analyze spend, understand total cost of ownership, and use data to guide decisions.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain work, preferably in a multi-vendor setting.
- Capacity to work independently in a remote environment while handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for dealing with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Comfort using procurement or ERP systems along with spreadsheets, word processing tools, and presentation software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
