Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the Data Solutions team, which supports TikTok’s data business by ensuring a steady supply of high-quality labeled data as the business expands. The team works across structured and unstructured data to surface insights and convert them into products that support growth. Its scope includes building infrastructure, managing recognition capabilities, and coordinating global labeling delivery.
The product manager will help create a platform that can handle a wide range of labeling needs by simplifying how labelers are onboarded and how work is executed. The goal is to translate complex requirements into an efficient, automated experience supported by AI, ticket management, and crowd worker payment workflows. Success in this role depends on building an end-to-end data labeling and annotation product that scales effectively while improving productivity and keeping costs as low as possible.
Key responsibilities
You will own product direction and execution for the platform, from strategy through launch and ongoing iteration. The role requires close coordination with engineering, design, and program management to turn business needs into working product solutions.
- Create and maintain the product strategy and roadmap.
- Study market trends, review competing products, collect user input, and convert findings into product direction.
- Set feature priorities against business objectives and user needs, create screen mockups in Figma, write clear PRDs, and present designs to engineering teams.
- Carry out user acceptance testing before release.
- Track product performance and refine the experience using customer feedback and market signals.
- Work with cross-functional partners to deliver launches successfully and support continued product improvement.
What you need to bring
The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator with solid documentation, presentation, and analytical skills. You should be able to think strategically, shape a long-term product vision, and translate it into practical milestones and deliverables. Experience with platform or technical product management is important, along with the confidence to work closely with stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, especially for customer and executive communication.
- Ability to think strategically and analyze problems effectively.
- Capability to define long-term product direction and break it into executable plans.
- Interest in and understanding of technical and platform product management.
- Strong coordination and relationship-building skills across multiple priorities and workstreams.
- Ability to influence engineering, UX/UI, and program teams without direct authority.
- Comfort working with both agile and waterfall delivery methods.
- Experience creating PRDs, wireframes, and functional designs using tools such as Figma and diagramming formats like swimlane and sequence diagrams.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related business or technical discipline is required, with computer science preferred. Candidates should bring 3 years of backend engineering experience, including 1 to 2 years in product management. You should also have experience driving the product lifecycle from vision to launch, including product vision, go-to-market planning, requirements definition, and release execution. Background in large-scale data platforms that support growth, retention, and engagement for cloud, enterprise, or developer products is also needed.
Preferred background
Knowledge of API design, SQL, and Python would be an advantage. Experience with consumer-facing products is also considered a plus.
