Business Unit: Abbott Ireland Vascular Division, Clonmel
Abbott Vascular is a major player in vascular care, with an emphasis on improving treatment outcomes for vascular disease through medical device innovation, pharmaceuticals, research, training and education. Its product range includes vessel closure, endovascular and coronary technologies used to address conditions affecting the heart, carotid arteries and peripheral blood vessels, including heart attack, stroke and critical limb ischemia.
Role Purpose
Working with general direction from functional management, you will lead a team focused on improving quality and productivity while supporting business unit demand. The role involves spotting and analysing issues, planning tasks and practical solutions, and supporting the team on development, performance and productivity matters. You will also report team results, achievements and productivity updates to functional and/or organisational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a staffing plan by identifying resourcing needs and working with Operations Management and Planning Schedulers.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and provide hands-on support to team members.
- Strengthen team capability through training and by assigning more challenging work over time.
- Design and deliver continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing process waste.
- Work closely with stakeholders in Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain, EHS, Operations Management, Finance and Operations Excellence.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Create department work schedules based on priorities, workload and available resources.
Education and Experience
A Level 7 qualification, together with relevant work experience, is required. Candidates with prior people management experience are especially encouraged to apply.
