About SyncedCancer Initiative
SyncedCancer Initiative works to reduce cancer risk among young people in Nigeria by delivering prevention education before a diagnosis happens. Its main school-based program, SyncedCancer School Outreach Program (SyncedCancer SOP), uses termly HealthSync Day sessions and a year-round student-led club called The SyncSquad to build awareness and prevention habits in secondary schools.
Role Overview
This position serves as the main local representative for SyncedCancer in Ibadan. The coordinator will support school outreach activities as well as the organization’s grant and funding work. The role combines relationship management, communication, and writing responsibilities.
Work Arrangement and Location
The role is based in Ibadan, Nigeria. It is mostly remote, but it requires monthly in-person coordination at partner schools.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between SyncedCancer and partner schools.
- Attend SyncSquad meetings in person each month and assist the staff adviser and student leaders.
- Track club activities and help organize logistics for HealthSync Day events.
- Support ambassador onboarding and keep program records updated for each school.
- Identify grant and fellowship opportunities that align with the organization’s mission.
- Work with the Founder to draft grant applications, including narratives, budgets, and supporting materials.
- Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities and monitor deadlines.
- Assist with reports and follow-up documentation for any funding secured.
Requirements
- Must be located in Ibadan and able to travel to partner schools once a month.
- Strong command of written English and the ability to prepare clear, persuasive documents.
- Genuine interest in public health, cancer prevention, or youth education.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Experience in grant writing, program coordination, or nonprofit work is helpful, though not mandatory.
Compensation
The role offers a monthly payment of ₦60,000.
