Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a field-based hospitality and property operations professional to help keep a portfolio of short-term rental homes ready for every guest. In this role, you will cover a defined zone, report to the Team Lead for Hospitality Operations, and help ensure homes are functional, tidy, clean, and well stocked. Your work will have a direct effect on guest experience, review ratings, and the condition of owner properties.
Compensation is $22.50 per hour. The schedule is full time and requires regular availability on weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, with 2 days off each week. The role also includes a $135 monthly car allowance and a $100 monthly allowance for tools and equipment.
About the company
The company is an end-to-end investment platform focused on single-family rental homes. Its mission is to improve the rental housing ecosystem for everyone by combining real estate investing with technology. The business has a team of 750+ employees, has raised $240 million in Series E funding, and operates from the Bay Area and New York City. It has expanded through acquisitions including Stessa, RentPrep, and Mynd, and in 2025 it took an ownership stake in Casago to strengthen its short-term rental capabilities.
Team culture
The short-term rental team is building a new business unit with a startup-like pace and a strong focus on owners, guests, and teammates. The team values cross-functional collaboration, speed, accountability, hospitality, and a mindset centered on impact and return on investment.
What you will do
- Check homes before and after guest stays to confirm they meet brand expectations, and record findings in task management tools.
- Replenish consumables and inventory so each home stays ready for guests.
- Add thoughtful guest touches such as welcome notes and small gifts.
- Carry out light maintenance work such as changing lightbulbs, resetting TVs, and handling minor fixes, while escalating larger issues to the maintenance team.
- Assist with turnover tasks including making beds, refreshing decor, tidying spaces, and removing trash.
- Respond promptly to urgent issues and in-stay guest needs while out in the field.
- Monitor supply use and report homes that show unusual usage or repeated concerns.
- Maintain a professional, guest-facing presence and, when needed, handle incoming or outgoing phone calls and messages with guests and owners.
- Help Hospitality Managers distribute field tasks during slower periods.
- Support your assigned zone while also stepping into other zones when business needs require it.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
Success measures
- Guest satisfaction and review performance, with a target portfolio average above 4.8.
- How many inspections are completed each shift or day.
- Accuracy and completion rate for assigned tasks.
- Speed of response to urgent or in-stay issues.
- Consistency of homes meeting functional, clean, and stocked standards as confirmed by market leadership.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in hospitality, property care, vacation rentals, or a similar field.
- Strong attention to detail and a dependable work style.
- Ability to work from checklists and follow brand standards consistently.
- Physical ability to lift 25+ lbs and stay on your feet or walking for long periods.
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Comfort using mobile apps and task tracking systems.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
Work environment and physical demands
This is an active, field-based role that involves frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and regular driving between properties across the market. Most work happens inside homes, though some supply runs and warehouse coordination may also be required. The schedule includes frequent weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, with two days off per week.
Benefits
- Generous PTO policy
- 12 paid holidays
- Volunteer time off
- Paid parental leave
- 401(k) program
- Health, dental, vision insurance, and additional coverage options
- Monthly car allowance of $135
- Monthly tools and equipment allowance of $100
Eligibility and employment conditions
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship for H1-B visas is not available at this time. Any employment offer depends on successful completion of a background check. The employer is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics under applicable federal, state, or local law.
