About the Role

This role contributes to the overall success of Client Management & Engagement Engineering, ensuring individual goals and initiatives align with team business strategies and objectives. All activities must comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a quality advocate throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop moderate to complex code and scripts for system testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to support continuous testing within an agile framework.
  • Collaborate with team members to define test approaches that thoroughly cover the functional and performance aspects of application features.
  • Identify and report defects, working closely with the team to determine, prioritize, and schedule solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis for post-production issues and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a deep and current understanding of the organization’s products, applications, systems, environments, processes, and tools.
  • Understand and apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in daily tasks and decisions.
  • Ensure efficient operations within your area, adhering to Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles. Maintain adequate, effective, and compliant business controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Foster a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Possess 1-3 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Development.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least one programming language, including Java, Javascript, or Python.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Show effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Be capable of working effectively within a team and encouraging both individual and collaborative innovation.
  • Maintain a positive and resilient attitude, embracing feedback and demonstrating a desire for continuous iteration and improvement.
