About the Role

Our client, a prominent food manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate to become a valuable member of their expanding Quality team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who is passionate about food safety, regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement within a dynamic production setting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing the site's Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory mandates while collaborating effectively with various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assess the efficacy of Food Safety Management Systems through GMP audits, CCP verifications, and Food Safety walks.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to verify compliance with company protocols, food safety mandates, and FSSC 22000 standards.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Quality Management Systems throughout operational areas.
  • Collaborate closely with production and other departments to ensure consistent achievement of quality and food safety standards.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to operational teams concerning quality processes and compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of food safety training programs for both new and existing staff.
  • Support internal audits and external third-party certification audits.
  • Administer and maintain the Document Management System, ensuring all controlled documents are accurate and current.
  • Educate employees on documentation requirements and quality procedures.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory and quality requirements and facilitate the implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Lead, track, and review corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Engage in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quality Assurance, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of GMPs, Food Safety Management Systems, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Have experience in developing, maintaining, and managing controlled documentation and procedures.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and a highly organized approach to tasks.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
  • Have the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Show strong planning and prioritization capabilities, with the ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Prior experience in delivering training or supporting employee development is considered an advantage.
