Job description
Role overview
The Quality Control position is focused on making sure products consistently meet the required specification and quality expectations. The role supports the business by helping ensure products are correct the first time, while also contributing to the wider quality and technical function through sampling and testing.
Key responsibilities
- Check product quality on the production line against approved specifications.
- Work closely with production staff so quality is built into day-to-day operations.
- Keep accurate quality records and due diligence documentation, and take ownership of them.
- Raise any product quality or food safety issues straight away through the correct channels.
- Make sure the correct product is packed.
- Assist with quality audits and related checks.
- Collect samples during and after production and perform quality tests.
Working pattern
This role follows a rotating shift schedule of 4 x 12-hour day shifts in week 1 and 4 x 12-hour night shifts in week 2. Working hours are 7:00am to 7:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am.
Pay
The hourly rate is between £13.17 and £13.67.
Requirements
Applicants should have experience in a retail or food manufacturing setting, along with exposure to quality assurance, quality control, food safety, environmental standards, or organics. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, as well as prior experience in a similar role or within a food-related environment. An understanding of why food safety matters is also essential.
