Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Head to lead and enhance our quality management systems and operations within the transformer manufacturing sector. This pivotal role involves establishing and maintaining robust quality frameworks, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring adherence to all relevant industry standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in transformer manufacturing quality, a strong understanding of quality management systems, and proven leadership capabilities to guide a dedicated quality team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with critical industry standards including IS 2026, IEC 60076, IEEE, BIS, and ANSI for transformer manufacturing.
  • Lead comprehensive supplier quality management, including vendor audits, supplier development programs, and the approval of incoming raw materials and components.
  • Define and deploy quality policies, set objectives, establish procedures, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specific to transformer production.
  • Conduct and manage internal and external quality audits, ensuring prompt resolution of any identified non-conformities.
  • Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt/Master Black Belt), and other continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Direct in-process quality control, inspection, and testing activities to guarantee defect-free transformer output at every manufacturing stage.
  • Utilize failure analysis techniques, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), to minimize production defects.
  • Supervise all quality control checkpoints from core assembly and winding to insulation, tank fabrication, oil processing, final assembly, and drying.
  • Approve process control plans, inspection test plans (ITP), and work instructions to maintain quality standards.
  • Manage and oversee routine, type, and special tests, including ratio, winding resistance, no-load/load loss, impedance, short-circuit, induced/applied HV, and oil analysis (DGA, BDV, moisture).
  • Ensure transformers meet all customer specifications and regulatory requirements prior to dispatch, authorizing final quality release.
  • Handle customer and third-party inspections, as well as audits by regulatory bodies.
  • Investigate customer complaints, product failures, and field issues, leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and service departments to resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams responsible for quality assurance, testing, and supplier management.
  • Design and deliver training programs focused on quality standards, compliance, and best practices.
  • Align quality initiatives with overarching business objectives in close consultation with senior management.
  • Cultivate a strong organizational culture centered on quality awareness and ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain meticulous quality records, test reports, calibration logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Review and approve all quality-related documentation, including drawings and change requests.
