About the Role
Reliance Industries Limited is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor for their CHO Projects in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This full-time, onsite position involves meticulous quantity calculation, bill verification, and site measurements to ensure accurate project costing and contractor performance evaluation.
Job Responsibilities
- Calculate project quantities based on Work Order pay items and IFC drawings.
- Compare calculated quantities with certified bills validated by the Engineer-in-Charge (EIC).
- Review and verify monthly contractor bills according to the billing cycle.
- Interpret drawings, identify work items, perform quantity take-offs, and verify bar bending schedules.
- Record measurements for concealed and various work items for computerized billing, bill checking, and quantity verification.
- Ensure billed quantities align with standard measurement modes.
- Check and validate Joint Measurement Sheets (JMRs) against standard formats, including detailed backup for claimed quantities.
- Verify bar bending schedules and associated quantity calculations.
- Analyze work orders, including contract conditions, payment terms, date of readiness (DOR), and closure conditions.
- Conduct detailed verification of quantities in bills, cross-referencing measurements with drawings, JMRs, hand sketches, and abstract sheets.
- Perform physical verification of quantities through regular site visits.
- Prepare bar bending schedules.
- Authenticate verified documents for Running Account (RA) and Final Bills.
- Initiate SAP requests for authorizations related to addition plants, project codes, and fund centers within RELSAP.
- Monitor and obtain approvals for requests submitted through SIMS from various levels.
- Assess contractor performance using bill processing parameters.
Education Requirement
- A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying (Civil) is desirable.
Experience Requirement
- Candidates with a Degree in Civil Engineering require 1-7 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates with a Diploma in Civil Engineering require 7-14 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in Quantity Surveying functions is necessary.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in civil engineering principles and the ability to read technical drawings.
- Expertise in estimation, costing, and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with automation tools and software relevant to quantity surveying.
- Skilled in applying optimal methodologies for accurate measurements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction work estimation, costing, and measurement.
- Understanding of General Conditions of Contract (GCC), Special Conditions of Contracts (SCC), and Schedule of Rates (SOR).
- Awareness of Quality and Safety procedures.
Additional Information
This role requires a strong understanding of measurement techniques and contract terms. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy in project execution.
