Role overview
We are looking for a Rental Agent to join the Weymouth Depot within the Vehicle Hire Division. This is a customer-facing position in a fast-growing business that supplies a broad range of light commercial vehicles to clients across corporate, public sector, and mid-market segments. The role sits at the centre of depot activity, acting as a main contact for customers and internal teams while helping grow the business through strong service and relationship management. The starting pay is £29,500 per year, with an additional bonus linked to performance.
Key duties
- Enter bookings into the relevant systems accurately and manage the sending and return of documents where required.
- Build and maintain new and existing customer relationships through professional email and phone communication.
- Handle customer calls, respond to questions, provide guidance and support, and suggest suitable company services and products.
- Prepare and complete all paperwork connected to vehicle movements and yard inspections.
- Represent the depot professionally in person, maintaining a high standard of hospitality and client care on site.
- Prepare rental quotations accurately, follow up on quotes, and pursue outstanding enquiries.
What you need to succeed
- Previous experience in a busy, high-volume agent-type role, ideally in the hire sector.
- Comfort working in a changing environment and under pressure, both independently and with colleagues.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, especially when handling handover paperwork and checking vehicles.
- Clear, friendly communication skills for dealing with customers in demanding situations.
- Willingness to work shifts that cover the branch’s operating hours.
- A valid driving licence with at least 12 months of driving experience.
