About Mindrift
Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies, focusing on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Participation is project-based, not permanent employment.
What This Opportunity Involves
While each project involves unique tasks, contributors may be involved in the following:
- Designing original optics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
- Ensuring problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks).
- Developing problems requiring non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
- Basing problems on real research challenges or practical applications from optics and physics practice.
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.
What We Look For
This opportunity is ideal for physicists interested in part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideally, contributors will possess:
- A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related fields.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, which can include applied, research, or teaching experience.
- Proficiency with numerical simulation methods.
- The ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows.
- Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas.
- Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques.
- Strong written English skills, equivalent to C1 level or higher.
How It Works
The process involves applying, passing qualifications, joining a project, completing tasks, and receiving payment.
Project Time Expectations
For this specific project, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10-20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project requirements. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, applicable only while the project is active.
Compensation
On this project, contributors can earn up to the equivalent of $45 per hour, based on their skill level and contribution pace. Compensation varies across different projects depending on their scope, complexity, and the expertise required. Other projects on the platform may offer different earning levels.
