About the Role

Corner Place Surgery in Paignton is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Salaried General Practitioner (GP) to become a valued member of their friendly and supportive primary care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a modern general practice setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care services to both registered and temporary patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, triage calls, and home visits as per the Practice schedule.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health conditions.
  • Provide appropriate medical treatment, advice, counselling, and health education to patients.
  • Address medical issues for temporary residents as needed.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans aligned with Practice disease management protocols.
  • Contribute to the management of chronic diseases and support preventative healthcare initiatives.
  • Make appropriate referrals for further consultations, investigations, and treatments according to Practice guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and relevant consultation records.
  • Prescribe medications safely and effectively, adhering to local and national prescribing guidelines.
  • Process repeat prescriptions, review pathology results, manage clinical correspondence, and handle associated paperwork efficiently.
  • Participate in the training and education of medical students when required.
  • Fulfill all duties expected of a GP working in primary care.

Requirements

  • Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Completion of GP specialty training (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency in managing a wide range of primary care conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.
