Role Overview
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Sales Development and leads the Sales Development team for the Americas region. The main objective is to expand pipeline creation and consistently deliver strong KPI performance.
The team supports Account Executives by creating qualified meetings through outbound prospecting on target accounts and inbound follow-up on Marketing Qualified Leads.
Core Responsibilities
- Set and execute the sales development approach for the assigned regions.
- Work with Regional Sales Directors to shape regional demand generation plans.
- Create a repeatable and scalable sales development process and ensure the team follows it.
- Review the quality of opportunities sourced by Sales Development Associates using company criteria.
- Track team performance metrics and present findings to sales leadership.
- Use data and results to identify performance gaps and build action plans.
- Partner with Marketing leaders on inbound lead generation and demand plans.
- Manage the team budget and control direct report expenses.
- Keep an eye on competitors, economic signals, market triggers, and industry trends in the region.
People Management Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and coach new Sales Development Associates.
- Define annual goals, performance plans, and high standards for the team.
- Hold regular 1:1 meetings to review performance, progress, and goal attainment, and coach underperforming team members weekly.
- Complete quarterly performance reviews for each direct report.
- Design and roll out enablement programs, assess training needs, and run recurring coaching sessions for individuals and groups.
- Ensure the team uses the sales technology stack effectively.
- Join prospect calls and planned field days when needed.
- Help shape career paths for team members based on performance, skills, and professional goals.
- Support the planning of meetings and events with Regional Sales Leadership on weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles.
- Organize team-building activities onsite or offsite on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Drive motivation through incentives, prizes, spiffs, and public recognition.
- Build team unity and encourage the sharing of best practices.
- Lead by example and reflect EcoVadis values in day-to-day behavior.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring more than 2 years of experience managing, coaching, and developing a strong sales development team. A successful track record in an SDR/BDR role for at least 2 years is also required, along with a history of consistently exceeding targets.
Strong English fluency is essential. Additional languages are a plus, especially for discussing sustainable procurement practices with senior stakeholders. Experience supporting business growth across multiple locations in the Americas region is important.
A bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability, procurement, or a related discipline is expected. Candidates should also be comfortable using tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, and Sales Navigator.
The role calls for excellent time management, prioritization, organization, communication, and an analytical approach to using data to identify trends and patterns.
Additional Information
Location: Toronto, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role is full time and is expected to begin as soon as possible.
Compensation includes a base salary of 110K to 120K, plus a variable component of 40K to 50K.
