Job description
About the Organisation
St Jude’s Health Care Group has been delivering aged care, allied health, and disability support services since 1982. Over more than four decades, the organisation has built a strong reputation and operates with a clear values-based approach: services must meet the same standard the team would want for their own families. Its work is shaped by respect, integrity, commitment, and true partnership with the people and communities it supports.
Role Overview
The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating workforce resources so services can be delivered to clients as efficiently as possible. This position manages both planned staff rosters and urgent day-to-day changes caused by absences or cancellations. It involves close interaction with staff and clients, with a strong focus on communication, service quality, and keeping everyone informed.
Key Duties
- Review rosters regularly to ensure service targets and operational needs are being met.
- Reduce travel time where possible so more time is spent delivering direct client support.
- Handle same-day changes, including replacement coverage for unexpected leave or cancellations.
- Match staff and clients appropriately to support effective service delivery.
Work Location and Employment
This is a permanent full-time role based in the new West Perth office.
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Prior scheduling or rostering experience is not required, though it would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enjoy solving problems, and bring strong time management, planning, and organisational skills. Good communication skills are important, along with the ability to build productive relationships with key stakeholders. A customer-focused mindset and a friendly, positive phone manner are also valued.
Preferred Criteria
- Experience in scheduling or rostering for a complex service-based environment, preferably healthcare, is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of rostering principles is useful, though not essential.
- Familiarity with the NDIS framework and how it is applied is beneficial, but not required.
- Strong confidence using computer systems and software is needed.
- The ability to balance multiple deadlines and competing priorities is important.
Equal Opportunity
St Jude’s NDIS states that it is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from interested candidates.
