Role overview
ABM UK is hiring a Security Officer for the X-Site leisure facility in Renfrew, Scotland. This position represents the security team in a visible, customer-facing capacity, so a confident, professional, and service-led approach is essential. The main aim is to keep the site secure while delivering a high standard of support to visitors and the client.
Working pattern and pay
The role is based onsite at X-Site, Renfrew. You will work a rotating 9-week roster alongside the wider security team, with a total of 40 hours per week. The pay rate is £13.00 per hour.
Key duties
- Engage positively with tenants and visitors across X-Site Braehead leisure facility and provide excellent customer service.
- Carry out regular site patrols in line with the assignment instructions and remain alert to changing conditions.
- Look for opportunities to assist visitors and step in proactively when support is needed.
- Help maintain a safe, non-threatening environment for everyone on site.
- Handle incidents according to the site’s procedures and policies.
- Work closely with the control room, respond quickly to incidents, and keep colleagues informed and supported.
- Report unsecured areas to the control room without delay and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Log incidents, non-conformances, and emergencies with control room staff accurately.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies while keeping the centre team updated.
- Observe, monitor, and report suspicious behaviour using sound judgement and in line with company and site procedures.
- Monitor for banned individuals or unauthorised access and manage such situations appropriately.
- Follow radio communication procedures at all times.
- Keep notebook entries complete and accurate, following all notebook rules.
- Complete all training requested by the line manager.
- Be prepared to cover at least one extra shift per month when needed for absence or annual leave cover.
- Work closely with the Environmental Services team and support a joined-up approach to service delivery.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks requested by management as needed.
- Remain professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful while performing all duties.
Required experience and qualifications
- A valid SIA Front Line licence or SIA Door Supervisor licence is required.
- An SIA CCTV licence is considered an advantage.
- You should be able to take ownership of situations and escalate when necessary.
- You need to stay motivated, set high standards, and work toward strong results.
- Respect for colleagues, visitors, and centre users is essential.
