Job description

Role overview

Dublin City University is seeking a Security Services Operative for a permanent appointment. The role reports to the Security Services Manager, or a delegate, and requires adaptability, as the duties will vary according to the demands of a busy university setting.

Working pattern

The position follows a Monday to Friday two-shift rota. Shift 1 runs from 08:00 to 16:00, while Shift 2 runs from 16:00 to 00:00. The team alternates between these two shift patterns each week.

In addition, the successful candidate must be available to work six weekends per year, either Saturday or Sunday, to support important university events. There is also an expectation to assist with exam setup outside the standard shift schedule.

Salary

The salary scale for this role is General Services Operative 2, ranging from €849.52 to €950.44 per week. Appointment will reflect the candidate’s qualifications and experience, and will be aligned with current government pay policy.

This post does not satisfy the requirements for a Critical Skills permit under the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment criteria.
