Job description
Role overview
MongoDB is hiring a Senior Developer Advocate for its Builder Relations team. In this role, you will help developers and technical teams get the most out of MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas, especially as organizations adopt modern technology stacks. You will work closely with a global community of Developer Advocates to support builders in bringing advanced capabilities into enterprise software and solutions.
This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and the working model is hybrid. The team itself is distributed globally and many team members work remotely.
What you'll do
- Build deep knowledge of MongoDB database capabilities and Atlas features, including Search and Vector Search.
- Create technical learning material such as tutorials with code examples, workshops, and video content for developer audiences.
- Run virtual and in-person enablement sessions for groups of up to 400 builders.
- Become a trusted voice both inside the company and across the wider developer community.
- Keep sharpening your skills in one or more complementary programming languages so you can communicate effectively with builders and help inform product improvements.
- Represent MongoDB’s tools and platforms by showing how they help developers work more effectively.
- Take part in community engagement through forums, meetups, and major industry events.
- Collaborate with teammates at all levels, including peer reviews, demo building, workshop delivery, and other content creation.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for someone with a strong software development background and at least five years of technical experience, ideally gained as a developer in an enterprise setting. You should have hands-on experience with one or more languages commonly used by MongoDB customers, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, and understand the challenges faced by builders at large organizations.
Experience in developer advocacy is welcome, and a working familiarity with MongoDB is an advantage, though not essential. The right person will be a clear communicator who can explain technical ideas simply, teach effectively, and create content that helps others learn.
Additional information
The company is seeking someone genuinely motivated by helping other builders become more productive and successful in their daily work. You should be comfortable working with teams across different levels and contributing to a collaborative environment.
