About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Accounts to lead our India-based accounting team. This role involves close collaboration with US-based client accounting teams, overseeing client onboarding, and ensuring the accurate preparation and review of financial statements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of US accounting principles, and extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the India-based accounting team, fostering high performance and professional development.
• Coordinate with US-based client accounting teams on deliverables, deadlines, and workload management.
• Manage the complete client onboarding process, ensuring efficient system setup, accurate documentation, and smooth integration into service workflows.
• Develop and implement effective onboarding strategies aligned with company standards and client expectations.
• Delegate tasks, establish clear objectives, and monitor team progress towards departmental goals.
• Oversee the preparation of essential financial statement components, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for assigned clients.
• Conduct thorough reviews of financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency, providing necessary guidance.
• Support the team in managing new and existing client assignments, including onboarding tasks, staff training, and mentorship.
• Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment strategies to meet business needs.
• Work with cross-functional teams (accounting, operations, technology) to ensure all onboarding requirements are met efficiently.
• Assist in sourcing and screening candidates to evaluate qualifications and skills during the recruitment process.
• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and effective communication.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, partners, and clients.
• Inspire and motivate accounting team members by articulating a clear vision for the team's future success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, with expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting or finance, including significant management and leadership experience.
• Proven track record of leading teams, achieving objectives, and delivering successful outcomes.
• Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with a capacity for cross-functional collaboration.
• Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of providing support and direction in decision-making.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Intacct.
• Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero, or Intacct.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience in setting up and implementing systems and procedures is advantageous.
• Possession of a Chartered Accountant, CPA, or CMA license is highly desirable.
