Job description
Position Summary
The Senior Operations Director will steer enterprise-wide operations, improve business processes, and coordinate execution across functions. This senior leadership position is focused on making operations more efficient, scalable, and consistent with broader business goals.
In addition to leading strategic initiatives, the role covers resource planning, process improvement, and governance to strengthen performance and support continuous organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and execute operational strategies that contribute to company growth and performance targets.
- Direct daily operations across several teams, business units, or regions.
- Create, refine, and roll out operational policies, procedures, and performance benchmarks.
- Lead initiatives that improve workflows, optimize processes, and raise operational standards.
- Set up KPIs, reporting dashboards, and performance tracking systems.
- Oversee operating budgets, workforce planning, and cost-control efforts.
- Work closely with finance, sales, marketing, customer service, supply chain, and senior leadership.
- Sponsor transformation efforts, organizational improvements, and change programs.
- Spot operational risks and put mitigation plans in place.
- Enhance productivity, service quality, customer experience, and overall organizational performance.
- Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, integration activities, and expansion plans.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing operations teams.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or a similar discipline is required; an MBA is preferred.
The position calls for 10–15+ years of experience in operations management, business leadership, project management, or organizational development, along with demonstrated success in handling large teams and complex operational settings.
Applicants should be well-versed in process improvement approaches such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence frameworks. Strong leadership, analytical, financial, and communication abilities are essential.
