Role overview

This opportunity is for a senior quality assurance professional based in Germany, working with a partner organization in a mission-led technology environment. The team operates where healthcare, bioinformatics, and software engineering intersect, with a focus on a clinical platform relied on by researchers, laboratories, and healthcare professionals around the world.

You will help safeguard product quality, stability, and performance across the software lifecycle. The role has a strong emphasis on building and improving automation, strengthening testing practices, and partnering with cross-functional teams to release dependable software in a fast-moving but highly disciplined setting. It is well suited to someone who values technical rigor, continuous improvement, and work that has real-world impact in healthcare technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Own both manual and automated testing efforts, while steadily increasing test coverage and widening automation across the delivery pipeline.
  • Build, refine, and support test frameworks that enable scalable and efficient quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute from early requirement and acceptance-criteria discussions through defect management and release sign-off.
  • Develop strong product knowledge to help ensure consistent standards and dependable user experiences.
  • Produce, update, and validate test documentation so it remains accurate, clear, and complete for critical workflows.
  • Track testing status, risks, and quality indicators, and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Guide junior QA team members and encourage best practices, quality discipline, and ongoing improvement across engineering.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or another STEM discipline.
  • At least 4 years of professional QA experience, with a strong emphasis on automated testing.
  • Hands-on experience creating, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks and test cases.
  • Strong Python programming skills, along with practical use of Selenium WebDriver and frameworks such as Pytest.
  • Exposure to test management and documentation tools such as TestRail, Quality Center, or comparable systems.
  • Working knowledge of API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar alternatives.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability, with careful attention to detail and a strong quality mindset.
  • Comfort working independently while also collaborating effectively in distributed Agile teams.
  • Professional fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in bioinformatics or genomics settings, as well as project management capability, would be a plus.

Benefits

  • Compensation aligned with your background, expertise, and experience.
  • A remote-first setup designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • The chance to contribute to healthcare and precision medicine technologies with global reach.
  • Ongoing learning and development in a fast-evolving scientific and technical domain.
  • Exposure to modern technologies and opportunities to connect research advances with real clinical use.
  • An international, collaborative team culture experienced in remote and Agile ways of working.
  • Work that contributes meaningfully to healthcare progress, research, and patient outcomes.
