Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our team in the Limerick region. This pivotal role is responsible for upholding the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project management teams in the practical application of health, safety, quality, and environmental systems on construction sites.
- Develop and maintain essential SHEQ documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, health & safety plans, environmental management plans, and quality plans.
- Review method statements and risk assessments from subcontractors to ensure adherence to legal requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, ensuring prompt resolution of any identified non-conformances.
- Track and report on SHEQ performance metrics across various projects to senior management.
- Participate actively in SHEQ meetings, contributing to the creation of action plans and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records, statistics, and reports related to SHEQ activities.
- Collaborate with site personnel, subcontractors, and internal departments to foster best practices in all SHEQ functions.
- Support the continuous development of a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a SHEQ, Health & Safety, or Environmental role within the construction sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and construction site compliance standards.
- Proven ability in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
- Capacity to work effectively with project teams and subcontractors.
- Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SHEQ reporting tools.
- A relevant Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or a Diploma is advantageous.
