Role overview
Unison Group is hiring a Software Tester for an onsite contract role in Singapore. The position centers on test automation as well as testing governance, with an emphasis on strengthening quality practices across software delivery teams.
Automation
- Work closely with development and QA teams to clarify testing needs and shape suitable automation strategies.
- Run automated test suites to check product behavior, uncover defects, and support delivery of reliable releases.
- Improve automation frameworks so they cover more scenarios, run more efficiently, and remain dependable.
- Review test outcomes and share clear quality insights with relevant stakeholders.
- Keep up with new automation tools and trends, and bring useful methods into the testing process.
- Support better software delivery by promoting automation and introducing efficient testing approaches.
- Bring practical knowledge of automating test scripts with Selenium or Cypress.
- Understand API testing and tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Be familiar with container technologies like Docker.
- Have experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Testing governance
- Use hands-on testing experience to advise teams on governance practices while working with stakeholders to improve quality, IT performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Carry out governance reviews and audits across projects to check alignment with standards, spot gaps, and suggest improvements.
- Create and update practical testing templates and standards, including test strategies, test plans, entry and exit criteria, and defect management guidance.
- Build, implement, and maintain testing governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that support strategic alignment, risk control, and effective testing.
- Support ongoing improvement by identifying recurring quality issues, root causes, and process enhancements from testing data and audit results.
- Provide regular updates on testing quality standards across different application teams.
Requirements
- Ideally, you bring more than 9 years of experience in software testing, particularly with Selenium and Cypress.
- You should be comfortable working with JavaScript or Python.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is expected.
- You should know your way around Git and CI tools such as Jenkins.
- A strong grasp of testing principles, methodologies, and best practices is essential.
- You must understand test strategy, test planning, entry and exit criteria, and defect management well.
- Experience in setting up and maintaining testing governance frameworks and procedures is required.
- You should have experience performing testing governance reviews and audits, identifying gaps, and recommending realistic improvements.
- Ability to develop testing templates and standards that teams with different levels of maturity can actually use is important.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail are needed.
- Good communication and coordination skills are required for working with cross-functional teams.
- You should be self-driven and eager to keep learning and improving.
