Store Manager

Role summary

The Store Manager is accountable for delivering store-level business targets while ensuring that customers receive excellent service from the retail team. The role requires strong operational discipline, people management, and the ability to support sales growth through effective store execution.

Core purpose

• Drive the store toward company goals by making sure the team consistently offers top-quality customer service and has the tools and guidance needed to improve sales.
• Put company and brand operating processes into practice across the store.
• Encourage use of the company loyalty program to increase repeat business and customer retention.
• Share observations and feedback about team members and products with the Area Manager and Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily, weekly, and monthly briefings so the team stays focused on sales targets.
• Maintain a polished, fashion-conscious appearance and strong product knowledge to help reduce stock loss.
• Stay current on new launches, trends, and fashion direction to better understand and anticipate customer expectations.
• Oversee stock handling and storage while keeping inventory shrinkage to a minimum.
• Ensure store processes are followed and that all staff comply with brand and company policies at all times.
• Use practical and creative selling methods to meet or exceed revenue targets.
• Monitor inventory levels so the store always has enough stock to support sales.
• Review store administration each week and correct any mismatches or errors.
• Manage staff scheduling, leave planning, and employee concerns or grievances.
• Keep visual merchandising standards consistently aligned with the approved guidelines.
• Promote the Club Apparel loyalty program to support repeat purchases.
• Oversee the overall store operation and keep the Area Manager informed about staff and product-related issues.
• Remain alert to store security at all times and avoid lapses in vigilance.
• Stay informed about the group’s different brands to support suggestive selling.
• Take full responsibility for end-to-end store operations.
• Be able to stand for long periods and perform heavy lifting when needed.
