Role overview

This position carries end-to-end accountability for supply chain, procurement, and warehouse operations at the site. The successful candidate will lead the function and ensure customer commitments are met while driving strong supply chain performance in line with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct the Supply Chain, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to achieve timely delivery, budget control, and operational and commercial targets.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, regulatory, cGMP, SOP, and internal standards, while adapting processes to evolving requirements.
  • Oversee training and capability development so the team maintains strong performance, compliance, and technical competence.
  • Manage budgets, cost centres, and allocation of resources to support wider business priorities.
  • Improve inventory levels, control costs, and increase end-to-end supply chain efficiency.
  • Promote ongoing improvement in areas such as cost reduction, forecast accuracy, supplier performance, and process design.
  • Lead change initiatives, insourcing efforts, and updates to procedures and ways of working.
  • Deliver strategic projects that support long-term organisational goals.
  • Contribute as part of the extended leadership group to planning and overall business performance.
  • Support cross-functional work on major projects and broader company initiatives.
  • Set, monitor, and report on departmental KPIs to strengthen accountability and results.
  • Coach, guide, and develop team members to build a progressive, high-performance culture.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will bring a relevant bachelor’s degree, proven people leadership experience, and practical knowledge of SAP ERP systems and strong business process discipline. Experience in a GMP-controlled manufacturing or pharmaceutical setting is preferred. Success in the role also depends on the ability to influence stakeholders, collaborate across teams, solve problems decisively, and stay adaptable and improvement-focused.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience in leadership and people management roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP and standard best-practice business processes.
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across functions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
  • Flexible, practical, and solutions-driven with a focus on delivery.

What’s offered

  • Opportunity to work in a collaborative, analytical, and quality-focused environment.
  • Exposure to both development-stage and commercial products.
  • A strong benefits package that includes pension, health insurance, a social club, and canteen facilities.
