About the Role
Traeger, Inc. is looking for a Supply Planner to oversee inventory optimization and supply planning for selected product groups. This position uses MRP and ERP tools to strike the right balance between customer demand, working capital, and supply chain efficiency. The role works closely with demand planning, operations, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and external suppliers to keep products available while limiting excess stock and obsolescence.
As part of the Sales and Operations Planning process, the Supply Planner provides analysis, spots potential supply constraints, and helps carry out plans that support day-to-day execution and broader business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and run supply plans for assigned product lines using MRP/ERP systems to keep inventory at healthy levels.
- Handle the purchase order lifecycle, including PO creation, scheduling, expediting, and tracking financial impact with procurement and finance teams.
- Keep planning master data current and effective, including lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and minimum order quantities.
- Track inventory results against targets and update plans to protect service levels while supporting working capital goals.
- Spot supply risks and bottlenecks, propose mitigation actions, and keep stakeholders informed of business impact.
- Contribute to monthly S&OP discussions with demand/supply alignment, scenario modeling, and capacity review.
- Work with demand planning on forecast shifts, new launches, and promotional activity to adjust supply needs.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers to resolve shortages and improve lead times.
- Support new product introductions and commercialization by planning launch supply and ramp-up inventory.
- Lead ongoing process improvements to increase planning effectiveness, lower costs, and improve forecast accuracy.
- Prepare data-backed reports and presentations for cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Manage product transitions such as phase-ins, phase-outs, and end-of-life inventory planning.
Core Competencies
- Comfort turning large datasets into clear insights and decision support.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and master data impacts on planning outputs.
- Knowledge of supply planning concepts such as lead times, safety stock, service levels, and inventory optimization.
- Ability to diagnose complex problems and build practical solutions quickly.
- Effective collaboration across planning, operations, finance, and supplier partners.
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ownership of assigned supply plans and follow-through on commitments.
- Ability to connect supply decisions to financial, customer, and operational outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail in planning data, forecasts, and outputs.
- Flexibility to manage multiple categories and shifting priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 1–3+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, inventory management, or a similar supply chain role.
- Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP platforms such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable systems.
- Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling.
- Working knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, including inventory theory, lead time management, and balancing demand with supply.
- Experience taking part in S&OP processes.
- Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and convert findings into practical recommendations.
- Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL or data visualization/analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python.
- APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP, or an equivalent supply chain credential.
