Role overview
The Tax Analyst based in Accra, Ghana will report to the Tax Manager and contribute to tax compliance, reporting, and advisory work across the regional business. The position is responsible for helping ensure that local tax obligations are met accurately and on time, while aligning with Orica’s internal standards.
The role also supports tax effect accounting, tax strategy implementation, and coordination with both internal teams and external authorities on audits, disputes, and cross-border tax matters.
Key duties
- Oversee tax compliance activities across the region and make sure filings meet local legal requirements and company standards.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory reports, and ensure taxes are paid within required timelines.
- Work with the global tax function to help roll out regional tax strategies.
- Spot potential tax exposures and assist with audits, disagreements, and communication with revenue authorities.
- Advise on tax implications for business operations, including transfer pricing and international transactions.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should have a degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, along with a strong grasp of tax legislation. At least 3 years of experience in tax, finance, or accounting is required, preferably from a multinational business or a Big 4 environment.
You should be confident in direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting, able to think analytically, and capable of turning tax issues into practical solutions. Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement ability, and a team-oriented mindset are also important.
