Job description
Role overview
The Team Leader is a member of the store leadership group and helps the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager run day-to-day retail operations.
Key duties
- Guide and supervise store associates while offering direction and day-to-day support.
- Handle merchandising, shelf replenishment, and the unpacking/boxing of incoming shipments.
- Make sure customer service remains at a high standard.
- Carry out manager-on-duty responsibilities, including breaks, timekeeping, and attendance oversight.
- Maintain visual merchandising presentation across the store.
- Respond to customer concerns and work toward quick, effective resolution.
- Keep the store safe, tidy, and clean.
- Support cash handling, opening procedures, and closing procedures when required.
- Take part in inventory activities and employee training.
- Track assigned work, and assist with hiring and performance management activities.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should have at least one year of retail experience, along with one to two years in a supervisory position. The role suits someone who wants to grow within the company and can work with day, evening, and weekend availability. Strong leadership, communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills are important, especially in a busy high-volume retail setting.
