About the Role

BMC is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager III to lead the Quality Initiatives program. This role is crucial for driving strategic quality programs across product engineering teams, fostering quality transformation, standardization, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with R&D, QA, and other stakeholders, leveraging deep expertise in Quality Engineering and a growing emphasis on AI-driven quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a vital member of the Central Quality team, overseeing quality assessments for multiple R&D product lines.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of quality initiatives, from planning and execution to risk management and reporting.
• Spearhead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Oversee and govern Quality Plans and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure adherence to organizational standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product, and Support teams to gather, analyze, and interpret quality metrics and data.
• Establish, standardize, and refine quality policies, procedures, and best practices throughout the organization.
• Facilitate and improve development processes, including DevOps and CI/CD integration, with a focus on test automation and tooling.
• Present data-backed insights, trends, and recommendations to leadership to support informed decision-making.
• Initiate and manage continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing product quality, release efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Mentor teams and promote the adoption of quality frameworks, tools, and governance models.

AI & Automation Expectations

• Champion the integration of AI/ML solutions to elevate Quality Engineering, including intelligent test automation, defect prediction, and risk-based testing.
• Utilize data analytics and AI insights to proactively identify quality deficiencies and areas for optimization.
• Promote advanced testing methodologies such as self-healing automation, predictive analytics, and anomaly detection.
• Work with R&D teams to embed AI-powered quality practices within CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI for software quality and propose scalable, innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (BE/BTech) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Software Quality Engineering, QA, or Project/Program Management within R&D environments.
• A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), release cycles, and product engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and governing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Proven track record in conducting Quality Plans and QA reviews for diverse and complex product portfolios.
• Proficiency in analytical skills and data interpretation, with experience in quality metrics and reporting.
• Practical experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation tools.
• A proven ability to manage cross-functional programs and effectively influence senior management.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their practical application in Quality Engineering.
