Fette Compacting is hiring a User Interface (UI) Designer for its Technology team in Schwarzenbek. The role focuses on improving the usability, look and feel, and overall interaction quality of software used in a high-tech machinery environment.

What you will do
- Create and continuously improve operating concepts and interface designs to advance the company’s software products.
- Carry out user research activities, including the creation of personas and the use of user-centered design methods to match user needs and expectations.
- Design visual components, layouts, and navigation structures that support clear and intuitive operation.
- Prepare wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for internal reviews and usability testing.
- Run tests, collect feedback, and refine the design to improve the user experience.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and design standards to ensure a consistent experience across software modules.
- Account for relevant standards and guidelines when designing machine-building HMI/software interfaces.
What we are looking for
- Several years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably in a machine-building environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of user research, wireframing, prototyping, and UI design.
- Confident use of common design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Understanding of frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus the ability to work closely with developers to bring design ideas into production.
- Familiarity with Lean UX and agile ways of working such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present design concepts and decisions convincingly to internal stakeholders and teams.
- Practical experience with user testing and iterative feedback loops.
- Knowledge of how to build and maintain design systems, style guides, and design standards across products and platforms.
