About the Company

Florida Crystals Corporation is a vertically integrated sugar business that grows sugarcane and rice in South Florida and operates mills, a refinery, packaging and distribution facilities, a rice mill, a composting facility, and a large renewable power plant that converts sugarcane fiber into clean energy for its operations. Role Overview

This is an entry-level utility maintenance position focused on keeping the mill premises and equipment clean and well maintained. The job involves using standard cleaning tools and supplies, and may also require work at height, including climbing ladders and using catwalks from time to time.

Key Duties

  • Carry out cleaning and upkeep tasks using brooms, mops, and related cleaning materials.
  • Work in elevated areas when needed and safely use ladders or catwalks.
  • Keep the workspace tidy and clean up after jobs or any spills.
  • Notify the supervisor about any unusual conditions or issues in the department.
  • Use PPE throughout the workday, including hearing protection, eye protection, hard hats, safety footwear, and any additional gear required for specific assignments.
  • Complete annual safety training as required.

Experience and Education

  • Mechanical or welding background is preferred.
  • A GED or high school diploma is required.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Ability to read product information and distinguish between similar items.
  • Strong safety awareness and understanding of industrial safety practices.
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts, weekends, and any hour of the week as needed.
  • Willingness to work overtime when requested or when available.
  • Good personal hygiene and housekeeping discipline.
  • Reliable attendance record and dependable transportation when required.
  • Team-oriented, motivated to learn, and committed to doing quality work.
  • Physically capable of labor-intensive work such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to read, write, and understand basic English.
  • Valid driver’s license.
