Role Overview
This position sits within the Food Services & Dietetics function and is scheduled on a variable shift basis in Gainesville, GA. The utility team member supports kitchen cleanliness, dining room upkeep, and meal-service flow while helping with other kitchen tasks during slower periods.

What You’ll Do
- Keep kitchen spaces, equipment, dishes, and dining areas clean and sanitary.
- Help serve food during meal periods and assist with organizing the dining area.
- Take care of sanitation tasks such as recycling, trash removal, box handling, sweeping, and mopping.
- Support food stocking and follow first-in, first-out rotation practices.
- Clean and sanitize utensils and food preparation areas after use and follow established cleaning schedules.
- Help receive and store food and supply deliveries when needed.
- Follow sanitation, safety, infection-control, emergency, and dietary department procedures.
- Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, punctuality, and dependable attendance.
- Communicate respectfully with guests, teammates, clinical support staff, and client personnel.
- Use required safety equipment and understand where MSDS information is kept.
Qualifications
- No specific license or certification is required.
- No formal education is required for the minimum qualifications.
- Prior experience is not mandatory for the base role.
- Preferred education includes a high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred background includes 1 year of related sanitation experience and/or training.
- Applicants should be able to move food items, dietary supplies, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are important.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, occasionally.
- Standing and walking are required constantly.
- Kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling are required frequently.
- Work intensity is constant.
- The role requires reading, writing, reasoning, talking, and keyboard use.
- Physical demand levels noted: lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs occur 0-30% of the time; vision demands are moderate and constant; kneeling/stooping/bending and pushing/pulling are frequent at 31-65%; standing/walking are constant at 66-100%.
