Role overview

This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner organization that will handle applications and the remainder of the hiring process. The employer is seeking a UX/UI Designer based in Canada.

You will help craft complete digital journeys for creators and fans on a rapidly growing, community-centered platform. The work spans product strategy and hands-on design execution, with a strong focus on simplifying complex creator workflows into experiences that are easy to use, engaging, and built to convert. The role sits at the intersection of product, design, and e-commerce, and it plays a visible part in shaping decisions that affect both user experience and business outcomes.

This is a collaborative, fast-moving, experimentation-friendly environment where design changes are expected to ship quickly and reach a global audience. You will also help strengthen a modern design system and improve the visual quality of web and storefront experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build complete UX solutions for creator and fan journeys, covering everything from discovery through production-ready workflows, with strong attention to clarity, usability, and conversion.
• Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished visual designs that help validate concepts and clearly communicate direction to stakeholders.
• Turn complex operational and creator processes into straightforward, intuitive, and visually strong experiences.
• Run user research and usability sessions to test assumptions and guide product improvements.
• Produce and refine visually high-quality interfaces for web experiences, with solid use of hierarchy, typography, layout, and interaction patterns.
• Help grow and maintain a consistent, scalable design system across digital touchpoints.
• Take ownership of Shopify storefront design and implementation, including theme customization and full storefront execution.
• Improve e-commerce journeys so they perform better for storytelling, ease of use, and conversion.
• Work closely with product, engineering, growth, and leadership teams to deliver connected, high-impact outcomes.
• Participate in ideation sessions, design critiques, and cross-functional alignment meetings.
• Keep accessibility, usability, and overall design quality at a high standard across all output.
• Contribute to related creative needs such as marketing materials, social media content, and campaign visuals when needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI design or product design, with formal education in Design, HCI, Digital Media, or a related discipline preferred.
• Background in designing and launching digital products, especially customer-facing web or e-commerce experiences.
• Practical experience with Shopify, including theme customization, storefront structure, and implementation work.
• Strong grasp of UX foundations, UI best practices, visual hierarchy, and design systems.
• Experience creating designs that support conversion and follow e-commerce best practices.
• Ability to manage projects independently from early idea stage through launch while balancing several priorities.
• Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional settings involving product, engineering, and business teams.
• Comfort with ambiguous problems and the ability to turn them into clear, actionable design solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and support design choices to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Additional advantage: UX/UI or Shopify certifications, an entrepreneurial mindset, and comfort in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
