Job description

About Conveo

Conveo is an AI research platform built to help organisations run consumer and B2B research faster, at lower cost, and with stronger quality. Its AI video interviewer is used by global brands to produce insights for marketing, product, and research teams.

The problem Conveo is solving

Traditional research approaches are often slow, costly, and too surface-level, which reduces how much research companies can realistically do and how useful that research is. Many businesses also need specialist expertise to run high-quality research, creating another barrier. Conveo aims to remove those limits so companies can better understand customers and serve them more effectively.

The team and culture

You will join a highly capable, enthusiastic team that combines deep market research experience, strong engineering talent, and real company-building experience. The environment is fast-paced, ambitious, and collaborative, with a strong focus on doing excellent work while enjoying the process.

How the team works

  • The company is deeply committed to clients and the problem it solves, and team members consistently go the extra mile with humility.
  • Hard work and enjoyment are both part of the culture.
  • To maintain a very high standard of execution, the team intentionally stays lean.

Role overview

Conveo is rapidly adding Fortune 500 customers, expanding internationally, and scaling its team. As VP of Finance, you will own and shape the entire finance function, turning it into a robust, scalable, and well-controlled operation ready to support the business through Series B and beyond.

You will act as the strategic lead, owner, and protector of the company’s financial operations, work closely with the founders across functions, and help drive key decisions around capital, revenue, expense management, hiring, and growth. The role suits a finance leader with strong strategic finance and accounting expertise who is excited to build the function and the team from the ground up or improve an existing setup.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who has already led or fully owned finance for a startup or scaleup and wants to build it faster, better, and in a company with category-defining potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Design the finance function end to end, including team structure, responsibilities, systems, and controls, so it can scale from roughly 45 employees today to 150+ in the coming months.
  • Build and professionalise the finance team.
  • Set up and run finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, and transfer pricing processes.
  • Lead the monthly close process and coordinate bookkeeping closure with the company’s Big Four partner.
  • Own financial planning and analysis, including scenario modelling and KPI tracking.
  • Provide clear, real-time visibility into cash burn, runway, liquidity, and scenario outcomes so leadership and investors can make fast decisions with confidence.
  • Own reporting for the board and investors, support due diligence for future fundraising, and strengthen the company’s financial credibility ahead of Series B.
  • Help prepare the business for Series B and other potential financing paths.
  • Oversee business-critical planning areas such as hiring plans, ESOP planning, pricing, deal economics, and capital allocation.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience spanning financial operations, accounting, audit, or financial control.
  • Proven success in implementing and improving finance systems and controls within a startup environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting, reporting, financial controls, compliance, AR/AP management, audit processes, and ERP systems.
  • Experience owning the monthly close process alongside external auditors.
  • Ability to build and manage three-statement models, hiring plans, scenario analyses, and ad hoc financial models.
  • Experience with at least one ERP implementation or migration.
  • Leadership background, including managing financial controllers, accountants, or similar finance professionals in venture-backed companies.
  • Prior startup or scaleup finance and control experience, ideally including setting up accounting systems, ERP, and books from the beginning.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS metrics and experience in FP&A.
  • Fluency in English.

Mindset

  • You are a builder who creates practical accounting systems with an operational mindset.
  • You have low ego and are comfortable leading while also getting involved in hands-on work.
  • You are meticulous, with a sharp eye for detail and numerical accuracy.

Bonus experience

  • Familiarity with Belgian and/or UK reporting and accounting requirements.
  • Experience contributing to Series B or Series C fundraising in a financial controller, accountant, or financial operations role.
  • Background in multi-entity consolidation.
  • Experience running financial operations for a startup, including accounting, ERP systems, AR/AP, and compliance.
  • Exposure to 409A, R&D subsidies, tax administration, and transfer pricing.

What success looks like

  • An automated and efficient ERP/accounting setup that always reflects current numbers and maintains complete accuracy.
  • A company that is financially strong and ready for Series B.
  • Books closed on schedule every month without fail.
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable consistently managed in real time.
  • A live dashboard covering burn, runway, and key metrics.
  • Financial models that actively inform decision-making.

Why join Conveo

  • Conveo has already closed its Series A round with support from top-tier investors.
  • You will shape and own the finance operations function through the journey from Series A to Series B and beyond.
  • The company works with Fortune 500 clients and has visibility through industry events around the world.
  • Compensation is competitive and includes equity.
  • Conveo is growing quickly, with offices in London, Antwerp, New York, and additional cities planned.
