Role overview
This position is for an Associate Merchandiser focused on Converse Apparel within the Merchandising department in Midtown Manhattan’s Fashion District, New York City. Reporting to the Vice President of Merchandising, the role supports seasonal merchandising, assortment planning, and product execution across cross-functional teams to help drive the development and commercialization of the Converse Apparel business.

Key responsibilities
- Keep the seasonal merchandising calendar on track and help ensure important milestones and deadlines are met through the product lifecycle.
- Review sales results, customer input, historical performance, and market signals to shape future assortment direction.
- Track competitors and new apparel trends to uncover opportunities that strengthen the Converse brand position.
- Assist with seasonal hindsight analysis to measure business results and spot account-level opportunities across wholesale channels.
- Help execute seasonal pricing approaches that remain competitive while supporting margin and IMU targets.
- Work with the VP and Director of Merchandising to build seasonal assortment plans for department stores, sporting goods retailers, specialty accounts, and other wholesale partners.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Product Development, Production, and Planning teams to move assortments from concept through commercialization.
- Prepare and maintain product line sheets, ensuring product details, visual materials, and merchandising tools are accurate and up to date.
- Support line reviews, customer presentations, sample tracking, showroom setup, and seasonal merchandising summaries.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Merchandising, Business, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in apparel merchandising, buying, planning, or product management.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to analyze sales data and interpret retail performance metrics.
- Understanding of retail math and wholesale merchandising fundamentals.
- Prior exposure to PLM, AS400, or similar merchandising systems is preferred.
- Excellent organization and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with clear written and verbal communication.
Compensation and benefits
The hourly pay range for this role is $31.25 to $36.06. This pay information is provided in good faith for this specific position and aligns with New York City salary transparency requirements.
