Role Overview
The Bid Specialist role is based in Mysuru and sits within the Bid Management function, reporting to the Head of Bid Management. This position focuses on handling RFQs, coordinating with internal teams, and building accurate, competitive proposals that align with customer expectations and company standards.
What You Will Do
- Review incoming RFQs from the sales team, study the requirements in detail, and align on customer expectations with Sales and the client.
- Partner with engineering, sourcing, finance, operations, sales, and other functions to collect inputs needed for quotations and proposals.
- Prepare end-to-end proposals, covering technical, commercial, and pricing components while staying aligned with customer specifications and internal procedures.
- Assess competitor offerings and carry out pricing and value comparisons to support strong bid positioning.
- Work through pricing or costing mismatches with relevant stakeholders so the final proposal is accurate and commercially sound.
- Maintain proper documentation for bid responses and ensure governance of all bid-related records and deliverables.
- Keep communication flowing across all stakeholders during the full bid lifecycle.
- Share timely status updates on bid progress, potential risks, deadlines, and final outcomes with internal stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electronics, or a related discipline.
- Prior exposure to machining or manufacturing settings; knowledge of machining processes, materials, methods, and secondary operations is preferred.
- Strong techno-commercial capability to combine technical understanding with pricing, costing, and bid preparation.
- Experience in the aerospace and defense segment is an added advantage, though not mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both internal teams and external customers.
- Good interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to manage several RFQs or bids at once, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
