Role overview

Position details
Community Support Worker
Permanent contract, 35 hours per week
Location: Clonmel Resource Centre, Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland
Purpose of the role
This role involves delivering tailored community support to people living with intellectual, physical, and mental health challenges. The aim is to help individuals participate as valued members of their local communities and to support their emotional, social, work-related, and learning development through community-based programmes. The post also includes providing one-to-one support for social activities as well as group-based community support.
Key duties
You will be responsible for helping plan, develop, deliver, monitor, and evaluate suitable educational, recreational, and occupational programmes in the community. The role requires working to current best-practice standards and up-to-date research focused on improving quality of life. You will also work closely with families, the multidisciplinary team, and relevant community contacts to secure accessible activities and opportunities for service users.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have a minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, along with a full clean driving licence. Experience supporting people with intellectual, physical, and mental health challenges is required, and familiarity with local community resources would be a strong advantage.
Salary and conditions
The salary begins at point 1 of €31,561.56 and can progress to point 11 of €43,731.06 pro rata. Pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
