Role overview

This is an on-site Contractor Escort position at HMP Leicester, supporting the safe and orderly delivery of maintenance activity inside the prison. The role sits within Amey’s work for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), helping keep secure sites clean, efficient, and running smoothly.

The annual salary for this position is £27,426. Working hours are 39 per week, scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an earlier finish every Friday.

The job is central to making sure planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, compliantly, and on time. It also contributes to broader operational support within the establishment and helps support local and business zero carbon initiatives where appropriate.

Key duties

• Carry out checks on contractors and monitor activities to maintain site safety.
• Support and deliver site induction processes.
• Provide flexible operational support across different areas of the establishment when needed, including assisting contractors on site.
• Help ensure health and safety expectations are met across the contract.
• Support zero carbon programmes in a practical and strategic way where relevant.
