Data Analyst (Entry-Level / Junior)

Role overview

In this entry-level to junior data analyst role, you will help teams make informed business and operational decisions by gathering, structuring, examining, and interpreting data from different sources. The position focuses on turning raw data into practical insights that support performance tracking, forecasting, and business improvement efforts.

Key responsibilities

You will create and upkeep reports, dashboards, and visualizations that highlight important metrics, business trends, and performance indicators. The role also involves checking data for accuracy, cleaning datasets, and carrying out quality reviews so information remains dependable and consistent. You will work with large datasets to spot patterns, opportunities, risks, and areas where processes can be improved, then present your findings in clear reports that are easy to understand.

Another important part of the job is partnering with teams across the organization to support forecasting, performance monitoring, workflow optimization, and strategic projects that contribute to growth and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, a detail-oriented mindset, and confidence working with spreadsheets, analysis tools, reporting systems, and data visualization software.

Exposure to SQL, database fundamentals, statistical techniques, and data management methods is considered an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, along with the ability to explain complex findings in a simple way to both technical and non-technical audiences. Good organization, time management, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines are also expected. Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting structures, data governance, performance measurement, and process improvement concepts would be a bonus.
