Crate & Barrel is looking for a Designer in Topanga, CA who can inspire customers with current home design ideas and help them imagine what is possible for their spaces. What you'll do

• Increase sales while creating a standout customer experience through meaningful design conversations in store, at home, and online.
• Prepare design concepts with approved tools, including mood boards, 2D and 3D floor plans, product assortments, and presentation materials.
• Run design consultations in person, by email, by phone, and through virtual channels.
• Complete projects within agreed timelines and maintain a timely follow-up process.
• Stay aligned with the brand’s visual direction and merchandising approach across store, e-commerce, and catalog channels.
• Keep current on product details, care instructions, competitors, and broader industry trends.
• Meet individual sales, KPI, service, and productivity targets while actively engaging customers on the sales floor.
• Identify customer needs through attentive listening and recommend the products and services that fit best, including loyalty and design-related programs.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and upbeat service at all times.
• Help train store teams on design services and offerings.
• Build repeat business through networking, client development, and relationship management.
• Use core design knowledge such as spatial planning, fabrics, lighting, and interior style principles.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in furniture sales, home décor design, retail, or customer service.
• Experience working directly with clients and recommending suitable solutions.
• Strong understanding of basic design principles, including space planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
• Comfort using technology such as 2D and 3D tools, Google Workspace, video conferencing platforms, and iPads.
• Ability to create or work with floor plans.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to respond quickly and effectively.
• Awareness of current design trends and an ability to keep learning.
• Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships.
