GMCO works across one of the largest exploration land packages in Saudi Arabia, with access to more than 2,200 km² spread over 29 exploration licences, and a further 275 km² across four licences is expected to be issued after completion of the latest MIM Round 9 bidding process.

Job summary

The Field Assistant will help keep field activities running smoothly by supporting data collection, coordinating logistics, and assisting with day-to-day site operations. The role requires regular travel to project locations, close collaboration with field teams, and a consistent focus on safety, accuracy, and timely execution. The position reports to the Field Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Support field crews with collecting data, managing samples, and setting up equipment.
• Help organize site movement, scheduling, and transport arrangements.
• Keep field documentation up to date, including notes and daily status reports.
• Follow all safety rules and standard operating procedures at the worksite.
• Assist with stock tracking, upkeep of equipment, and calibration tasks.
• Coordinate clearly with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Enter data and carry out basic analysis when instructed.
• Adjust to changing site conditions and contribute to practical solutions.

Required qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in mining or construction.
• At least a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification; extra training or certifications in relevant areas are an advantage.
• Comfort working outdoors in changing weather and travelling to field locations.
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with data collection tools.
• Strong focus on accuracy and good organizational habits.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Valid driving licence and readiness to drive field vehicles when required.

Preferred qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of field experience in a related industry.
• Exposure to data collection applications and mobile devices.
• Technical skill in handling sampling equipment and carrying out basic maintenance.
• Bilingual ability, where relevant to the role.
• Experience in a position that required a strong safety-first mindset.

Additional information

The role is based in Qal‘at Bīshah, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time on-site position. The job involves working across varied field environments and travelling to project sites as needed. No salary, stipend, number of openings, start date, or application deadline was specified.
