Role Summary
This full-time, on-site General Manager position is based in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The role is responsible for running day-to-day operations, including production planning, allocating resources, and improving workflow so that projects are completed on schedule and to the required standard. It also involves leading and developing the team, establishing clear performance goals, and promoting a safe, supportive, and collaborative workplace.
Key Duties
The General Manager will oversee budgeting, expense management, and business reporting, while also monitoring important operational and financial indicators. The position is expected to drive ongoing improvements in processes and efficiency, lead customer account management, assist with business growth efforts, and make sure service levels remain aligned with Laser Blade’s expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should have experience in operations or general management, ideally within manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar industry. A practical, hands-on mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and confidence in handling operational challenges are important. Familiarity with production planning, quality control, process improvement, workplace safety, and compliance in industrial settings is also expected. Experience using ERP platforms, spreadsheets, and reporting tools is useful. A relevant tertiary qualification in business, engineering, manufacturing, or a related area is an advantage. Previous exposure to laser cutting or metal fabrication is helpful, but not essential.
