Role overview
ACQUA Global - Água e Saneamento is hiring a Junior Data Engineer to work remotely from the United States on a full-time basis. This position is suited to someone at an early stage of their data engineering career who is eager to strengthen data pipelines, improve infrastructure, and contribute to analytics operations in a remote-first setting.
What you will do
- Build, maintain, and refine ETL workflows and data pipelines.
- Work closely with analysts, data scientists, and other engineers to keep data delivery dependable.
- Help shape and roll out data models, storage layers, and warehouse solutions.
- Track data integrity, spot issues, and resolve data-related incidents.
- Assist with bringing in new data sources and tools.
- Keep documentation current for pipelines, standards, and recommended practices.
What we are looking for
- Early-career profile with roughly 0 to 3+ years of experience.
- Previous exposure to data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar area, including internship experience.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Basic familiarity with ETL concepts and pipeline development.
- Nice to have: exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, or data platforms like Snowflake and BigQuery.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and troubleshooting ability.
- Comfort explaining technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Self-directed and comfortable operating in a remote-first environment.
- Fluent English communication.
- Must be based in the United States and legally authorized to work full-time.
