The Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior Data Quality Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for extension. This part-time role involves working 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, totaling 25 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and utility of financial data generated by our software tools. You will review bank statements and other financial documents, particularly in complex scenarios where extraction tools face challenges such as unreconciled balances, unusual formatting, or non-standard transaction patterns. Your role will involve using your judgment and meticulous attention to detail to rectify errors, verify running balances, and guarantee the integrity of the data used by legal professionals. This is an entry-level position, and formal qualifications are not a prerequisite; emphasis is placed on attention to detail, inquisitiveness, logical thinking, and proficiency with software.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize proprietary software to extract information from financial documents like bank statements.
  • Scrutinize extracted data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Verify financial figures, transactions, and calculations to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
  • Investigate anomalies in data formatting, reconciliation issues, and other complex cases.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance internal tools, improve accuracy, and boost efficiency and automation.
  • Identify recurring data patterns and propose enhancements to products and operational processes.
  • Test new software features and provide practical user feedback.
  • Develop documentation and resources for internal tools and data extraction procedures.
  • Offer broader support to the development team, including administrative, clerical, and data entry tasks.

What You'll Bring

  • Exceptional attention to detail, even when performing repetitive tasks over extended periods.
  • Proficiency and comfort in using computer software and exploring new applications.
  • Solid foundational skills in arithmetic and logical reasoning.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A curious and proactive mindset, with a drive to improve products and processes.
  • A adaptable and positive approach to work.
  • The capacity to thrive in a small team environment where priorities and workflows may change rapidly.
  • The patience and sound judgment required for thorough problem investigation.

You May Be Especially Suited If You Enjoy:

  • Identifying errors or inconsistencies in data.
  • Methodically working through detailed information.
  • Resolving minor logic or data-related challenges.
  • Leveraging software tools to increase work efficiency.
  • Improving existing processes and suggesting innovative solutions.
  • Being an integral part of a small, cooperative team where your contributions are valued.

Benefits

  • Career and Development: Access to a generous professional development fund, continuous training, and opportunities for career advancement.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Comprehensive private health insurance (including dental and optical), an £80 monthly gym contribution, an Employee Assistance Programme, and life insurance cover.
  • Financial Benefits: An 8% employer pension contribution, PerkBox membership offering discounts and rewards, a Cycle to Work scheme, and access to the LEAP Home program to assist with primary residence purchases.
  • Time Off: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, enhanced parental leave, and one paid volunteer day annually for a charity of your choice.
  • Work Environment: A friendly and supportive company culture, complimentary healthy breakfast, light lunch, snacks, and monthly social events.
