Role overview

Cantabria Lifecare & Village in Rotorua is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator for its 176-bed care home and hospital, alongside a 35-unit village. This is a permanent full-time opportunity of 32 or more hours each week, with Monday to Friday shifts. The position plays an important part in keeping the home safe, clean, and welcoming for residents.

What the role involves

The Maintenance Coordinator will manage day-to-day upkeep across the care home, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and attention to the building exterior and surrounding grounds. The role is hands-on and also requires the ability to organise work, prioritise tasks, and coordinate effectively to support resident wellbeing and safety. You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to help maintain the highest possible safety standards.

Skills and experience needed

The ideal candidate will bring a practical approach to general maintenance and a positive, can-do attitude. Experience in areas such as painting, plumbing, and minor carpentry would be helpful, although it is not essential. Strong people skills, empathy, a tidy and quality-focused work style, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are all important.
